NetClip lets you share the contents of the clipboard with other computers on a home office network, company or education intranet or the world-wide Internet. You specify the destination computers with which you would like to share clipboard contents and then simple drag items or paste into the network clipboard window and they are quickly and easily transferred to the computer(s) you specified. Great for sharing clipboard content with students in a classroom environment, company meetings, and even with friends and colleagues across the globe.
What does NetClip require to run?
NetClip should run on any Power Macintosh running Mac OS 8.0 or later with Open Transport installed and configured for TCP/IP networking. NetClip works great with Mac OS 9.0.
How do I use NetClip?
Using NetClip is simple. Just run the application and it will automatically install itself (only with your approval, of course) and you can begin using it immediately without restarting. The user interface is very straightforward. All you need to do is specify the destination computer(s) with which you would like to share clipboard contents (using an IP address or a Internet name such as mycomputer.com if your computer has an Internet name). If you don’t know the IP address of the destination computer(s), you can get this information by running the “TCP/IP” control panel on the destination computer and looking at the field named “IP Address”. Once you’ve configured your destination computer(s), you’re all set to transfer clipboard contents to any or all of the destination computer(s). To transfer clipboard contents, simply drag an item (e.g. selected text from SimpleText) and drop it into the Net Clipboard window. You can also transfer the contents of whatever is in your clipboard by selecting the Net Clipboard window and choosing “Paste” from the Edit menu.
Balloon Help is also fully supported so turn it on while you’re running the application for more help.
